Which Niche Should I Choose

Are you blogging for fun or work as in this case money. Well this will decide the tone of your blog. If it’s for fun, you can setup such blog types

Journal – Most sites support private blogs that can be used as a journal or public blogs for sharing. Some bloggers use weblogs to publish their travelogue, personal thoughts or daily events.

Special Interest – Write on your favorite hobby or subject. Share tips on cooking, photography, gaming or other hobby. Or write on your favorite topic, you can write on any subject from Victorian Literature to Fur Balls, there are no boundaries.

Family Blog – Most Blog services let you set up multiple users with passwords, so you could start a family blog. Family members can login and add posts and images to share with the rest of the family.

And if you’re more into work type of blog you’re interested in, here’s the possiblities

Product Promotion – Many individuals and companies use blogs for free marketing. Posts can be created as product reviews, articles, news or whatever. You can also link your blog to your corporate or sales sites.

Customer Education – Blogs can be used to inform customers. A corporate blog can contain product news, tips, company news, articles and more to educate customers or shareholders about products, services or corporate happenings.

News and Information – Numerous blogs are used to relate current events. Some bloggers publish national news and commentary; others use blogs to cover local events.

Which niche should I focus on?

In my opinion, if you want to do well in blogging and be well ‘recognised’, you need to choose a niche and focus on that. I’m doing well because I’ve several blogs that focus on just a certain specific niche, such as; blog about Nokia handphone rather than a general handphone blogs or write a niche on Burger King hamburgers rather than just hamburgers in general. So do you get my point?

One important thing about choosing a niche, is to write about something that you know or have interest in. I can’t exphasise enough the importance of this. If you were to start blogging on something out of your ‘depth’ of knowledge or interest, the rate of quitting blogging is most likely after some time.

Once you have the interest, you don’t have to worry about content as you’re filled with ideas and passionate about your writing. This is where the readers can tell if your blog is bookmark worthy and not just another blog out there on the Internet
